Alongside the traditional FCFS (First Come First Serve) bidding logic we have now added smart allocating algorithms.
Staff in the office can now choose which logic they want to use by simply changing the bidding rules from the dispatch screen.
What is FCFS ?
FCFS (First Come First Serve) awards the longest waiting job that is up for bidding from a zone to the first driver to bid for that particular job, hence the name First Come First Serve.
Our engineering team have been working hard on improving the above logic by also now assessing the job type as well as the profile of the driver and the vehicle that bids on that job.
The new improved algorithm now assess the driver and vehicle and then scans the available jobs and distributes the jobs based on the drivers and vehicles attributes i.e. if there is a minibus job waiting and is in danger of running late the system will prioritise the job and find a suitable vehicle and dispatch the vehicle to ensure that the right vehicle is sent and the customer was not delayed.
Alongside FCFS we have now introduced the Nearest Car bidding rule.
with this rule activated the system allows all the drivers to bid on a job that is put up for bid. The system then holds all the bids taken and then based on criteria on vehicle type alongside proximity to the customer will award the job to the driver that can get to the customer in the shortest possible time.
